2008 Presenters: Laurel Mendes Laurel Mendes of Gladsheim Kindred will present workshop and an Oracular Seidh rite - The seidh rite of seeking visions for the folk was old at the time of Erik Saga. It fell out of favor and use when Christianity became the dominant religion in Scandinavia. In 1989, Hrafnar began to work on recreating this rite. Laurel Mendes was a part of that process. Today, there exists a wide variety of groups practicing the recreation of this ancient art, in as many varied ways as there are goups. Laurel will present one face of this practice in a seidh rite Saturday evening. Andy Andy is a founding member of Eplagarðr Kindred and a member of The Troth. Andy came to Heathenism partially because his family is of German and English descent, but mostly because Freyja smacked him in the head with a blunt instrument and this is where he found himself when he woke up. He has also spent a good bit of time studying the runes, which he's sure he will begin to understand properly any day now. Despite his best efforts to integrate himself with humanity, he still identify more with cats.
